The effort tracking is very important in the project controlling. The effort control and the decisions about the effort reduction are an important tool for the project manager to increase the effective corporate activities.

A key principle by the effort tracking observation is accordance between expenses and revenues. It means that the efforts will be observed in the certain accounting period, where the efforts were used for the company. Moreover it means a reducing of the financial asset. The effort assessment as well as horizontal and vertical analyses helps the project manager to evaluate the work. The effort tracking contains personnel expenses, consumables, investments, material overheads, payment to third parties.

Tracking of the personnel expenses means regular recording of the working hours according to the project structure. Such a recording refers to the certain work package. Personnel expenses should be detailed calculated according to the work packages, milestones and activities, if various developers and assistants are engaged to the project.
