Efficient collaboration and improved information flow
München, February 17, 2009 — IQ medialab, producer of Outlook-integrated project management software, welcomes the County Hospitals Esslingen as their new customer. Now 300 employees in four hospitals use InLoox software to facilitate a more efficient collaboration across departments and locations. Especially the software's Outlook integration and its intutive user interface convinced the hospital direction that InLoox is the best tool for them. The software is self-explenatory and easy-to-use, special training to use the software is not necessary and this in turn tremendously increases the user acceptance among the employees.
The County Hospitals Esslingen provide local medical care in Kirchheim, Nürtingen, Plochingen and Ruit. Employees from various departments and locations collaborate on a multitude of projects such as the current reconstruction project at the Nürtingen location. This project requires a great amount of coordination and collaboration of medical and nursing staff as well as business divisions and the management. In order to allow for a most efficient and easy project realization across all departments and locations, the hospital direction decided to go for a software-based project management solution. Gerhard Bauer, Manager IT/EDV/Organization at the County Hospitals Esslingen explains: "When looking for a project management solution, we focused on finding a software that is easy-to-use. It would have been too time and cost consuming if we had to specially train all the 300 employees in our corporation that need to work with the program."
InLoox now supports the four hospitals' employees in a variety of projects from providing patient care over planning, documentation, time tracking, budgeting and controlling to evaluation. Moreover, the software offers an automated mailing system, with which project team members can be notified on the current status of their projects. Even if the employees are not directly involved in the planning process of a project, such as the medical staff in the current reconstruction project, they can be included in the information flow. This way, the medical staff too, is always up-to-date on the progress of the construction project, allowing them to include this information in their own project planning. These features leave more time to focus on the staff's core competencies and reduces repetitive resource planning and time consuming reportings.
InLoox project management software also seamlessly integrates into the sophisticated Citrix and terminal server landscape, which was another reason for the County Hospital Esslingen to go with InLoox. The software's full Outlook integration and consistent Windows infrastructure makes the program the ideal solution for the hospitals. Supported by InLoox's distribution partner OptCon, the product was implemented within a few days across more than 300 work stations. Thanks to the terminal server infrastructure, employees can now access InLoox from any computer within the company.
