Question:

What are the InLoox Desktop Tools and what are they used for?

Answer:

The InLoox Desktop Tools are an optional extension that allows the InLoox Web App to access local drives and network file servers. They are required when files are not stored in InLoox but are instead opened or linked directly from the file system.

The Desktop Tools are primarily used to:

  • Open files from a local or network file server directly from InLoox without downloading them (see help article, only relevant for InLoox On-Prem)
  • Add file links to local or network files in InLoox (see help article)
