Error message "the InLoox folder could not be found" (in Outlook 2010)

Problem:

The following error message is displayed:

"The InLoox PM folder could not found or created. Outlook reports the following error: The attempted action has failed. An object was not found.
 

  • Please, install the latest Outlook Service Pack.
  • Create a new Outlook profile to solve the problem.

 Contact your system administrator, if the error persists."

 

Solution:

This error is caused by a bug in Outlook 2010, which can cause an incorrect transfer of the directory name after a PST-file import. Please follow these steps to solve the problem:

  1. Change to the email view.
  2. Right-click the personal folder (via the inbox).
  3. Select Data file properties in the context menu.
  4. Click Advanced in the open window.
  5. Click OK to leave the dialog.

The name should now be correct.

Start Outlook again - InLoox will now load properly.
