Problem:

The InLoox task bar is grayed out and cannot be operated.

Solution:

This problem can ocurr due to three different reasons:

  1. There is no connection to the InLoox data base.
  2. The InLoox license is invalid, has expired or the number of clients on the data base has been exceeded.
  3. The local Outlook profile is incorrect.

If the connection to the InLoox data base failed, please test your firewall settings :

  1.  Click Start -> Run.
  2.  Enter the following command "telnet SERVERNAME 1433" (please replace the SERVERNAME by your server name from the network).
  3.  If you see only a black screen with a flashing cursor the connection was established successfully (otherwise you will get an error message).
  4.  If you received an error message, please check your firewall setting.

If the problem persists, check the access rights to the data base. Instruction on how to do this can be found in the chapter Authorization Configuration in the Configuration guide for Microsoft SQL Server in the Documentation and whitepapers.

If all configurations on the SQL Server are correct, please generate a new connection key for InLoox, as follows:

  1. Download the InLoox system manager from the download section.
  2. After opening the system manager, enter the correct connection data to your SQL Server.
  3. Generate the connection key.
  4. Save the connection key as a registry file.
  5. Add the generated registry file to the client.

If the maximum number of the clients has been exceeded on the server, check the number of clients that are in use. Make sure that you have enough client licenses. Please do not hesitate to contact us and we will check your license key for you.

Please send an e-mail to support@inloox.com or open a new ticket. Create a new Outlook profile for testing. You will find the option "mail" in the system control. Click on "Show profile..." from the following dialog window. Here you can create a new profile for testing the InLoox task bar.
